The couple stashed the iconic morsel in a foam dish with a clear plastic lid and say they plan to keep it.How few things around my house can be described as an "iconic morsel"! Perhaps I should be looking more closely at my food.
Lyn says the package occupies a spot on an end table, beside a photo of her mother, who died 17 years ago.
Both Lyn and Brian think there may be some spiritual meaning attached to the chip.
Speaking of which, yes, we are able to eat again. I had a regularly scheduled doctor's appointment yesterday and she confirmed that we had the nasty stomach bug that is going around. She's a new doctor for me -replacing the old one who just up and left without giving any notice (to me). But she reminds me of the doctor I had in DC and loved. When I asked about changing the level of my thyroid medication (because I think it might be too low), so didn't bat a an eyelash and suggesting trying a higher level right away. Also she suggested giving me three-month prescriptions without my asking. Yes--cheaper and more convenient!
Did I mention that I watched "Man On Wire"? I don't think so--it was great. Did so one afternoon when I was feeling too weak to do anything. Highly recommended. MAH has been much consumed with getting ready for the Steering Group meeting which is taking place as we speak. Much drama surrounding this--which can't be described here. Hope it goes well.
The poor dog has not been getting her regular walks. A combination of our illness, my continuing not feeling well, and the horrible cold/icy conditions. But we did get out today around lunch. They say there's a warming trend ahead, so both she and I will need to get back to our routine.
We are looking forward to a weekend at home with no obligations and no illness. We should finally be able to try out the lovely and surprising panini press that we got as a Christmas gift from the GHA family last weekend. Afraid it hasn't been it out of the box yet, but I think we had a valid excuse. Per the story at the top of this post--maybe we will start seeing shapes of famous people when we start using the press? Don Rickles in my toasted cheese?
Oh, and saw recipe in Lisa's formerly favorite magazine which called for taking challah (or just white bread), and putting chopped chocolate inside and then using the panini press to melt it. Wow. That sounds a bit yummy to me. Maybe with some bananas?
